About Darnley dunes beach house
A Hidden Escape in a Tranquil, Private Community You Won’t Want to Leave!
Darnley Dunes is your serene retreat on PEI’s sought-after north shore. Nestled near the captivating landscapes of Darnley + Malpeque Bay, 10 minutes north of Kensington, we’re a quick drive to (but worlds away from!) the busyness of Twin Shores Campground. This classic beach-house style bungalow invites you to experience the essence of peaceful, rejuvenating coastal living.
Our well equipped 3-bedroom cottage accommodates up to 9 guests and promises an unforgettable stay. With 2 full bathrooms and outdoor sun-shower, spacious open concept living area + full kitchen, we offer modern amenities with a classic cottage feel as a throwback to simpler, quieter, slower times. It’s the perfect blend of familiar comfort and uncommon experiences.
Saving the best for last: your stay includes private beach access to the pristine sands of one of longest walkable beachlines you’ll ever experience.
The Cottage
3 bedrooms sleep up to 9 guests comfortably. 2 full bathrooms (1 with walk-in shower), a full open concept kitchen and generous living space connects to a furnished screened-in sunroom to listen to the waves crash from in comfort.
Front + back decks provide your choice of morning vs afternoon sun or shade and a big well kept yard offers plenty of space for outdoor play and relaxation.
The Beach
Sure you need a cozy place to stay, but let’s be honest: You’re here & we built this place because of the beach.
No joke, this seemingly endless stretch of magical ever changing sand goes for several km’s in either direction and has a reputation for transforming souls and creating the occasional existential crisis when it comes time to leave it.
Don’t say we didn’t warn you in advance…
The Area
The Beach House is part of Neptune Estates, a private community that feels frozen in simpler times.
You’re minutes away from attractions like Cabot Park, Twin Shores Campground, Thunder Cove beach and the “big town” conveniences of Kensington and the scenic 20 minute drive to Cavendish is a real-life oil painting

This magical little spot is sure to satisfy. The beach house is lovingly kept, very comfortable and has all the amenities required for a cozy stay. Enjoy the lovely view from either of the decks, or inside from the front room that has floor to ceiling windows. It also includes exclusive private beach access with many beautiful kilometres to stroll in either direction. This sweet beach house offers everything you could ask for and more. I highly recommend a visit.
Darnley Dunes Beach House, a comfortable and inviting cottage, is only steps away from the beautiful north shore beach. This little gem has ample space for a family holiday or for a group of friends to enjoy a relaxing getaway. The cottage has everything you need for easy living and entertaining. The kitchen is well equipped, there is a barbecue just outside the door, there are two sun decks and a very nice enclosed screened porch with ocean views, all great for kicking back and relaxing. We enjoyed long walks on the beach in either direction and the swimming was wonderful too! It’s an easy drive to Kensington or Summerside for your essentials, seafood and other treats and nicely situated for venturing out to other island attractions as well. This is a very charming beach cottage to enjoy and a place to make holiday memories.

Food & Drink
The Beach House’s kitchen has prepared many a monster lobster & muscle feast over the years. There’s even a rumour someone once made homemade donuts, but few actually believe it…

Although the Beach House is typically best for people looking to get away from it all, you’re still only a short ways away from Kensington, Summerside, Cavendish and other popular areas with lots of popular eateries.
In the spirit of keeping things local, here’s a few suggested nearby spots you might miss though:

- Twin Treats Dairy Bar (Twin Shores Campground)
- Sou’West – Restaurant & Pub with Occasional Live Music

LOOKING UP!
The north shore of PEI features some of the darkest skies you can experience, especially in the shoulder seasons. You came here to relax, so our strongest recommendation is to simply let your night vision adjust and count the endless stars, watch satellites criss cross the milky way and spot more shooting stars than you ever thought possible!
MALPEQUE HALL CELIDH
As featured in The Buzz, Mike & Tom’s weekly ceilidh is just down the road at the Malpeque Hall. Family-friendly foot tapping good times had by all: it’s not a real PEI vacation without seeing a Pendergast play some tunes!
